Abstract
This paper deals with optimum lighting conditions for good appearance of rough surface illuminated a spotlight for building finishing surface.Flexible boards(900mm×1800mm)finished with 8kinds of rough surface pattern were used for the test wall.A halogen lamp was fixed to the top of test wall, and the wall was illminated by the lamp with 11 kinds of brightness at the center of wall. The luminance was measured at 12 points par a unit (300mm×450mm).The wall was divided in 12 small unites.Relationship between the luminance distribution of test wall and the appearance of rough surface was analyzed. The test results are as follows. It can seen very well when luminance is 500 to 1000cd/㎡,however it cannot seen very well when luminance is 500cd/㎡ or less and more than 2000cd/㎡
