Abstract
Recently, water leak issues have been caused by breaking, peeling and deformation of sealants or FRP membrane by degradation over time and contact of marine lives in aquariums. Repair materials that can be used in water are needed to repair the water leak without any concern for the marine lives. However it is known that peeling issues would be seen if an epoxy putty is used as a repair material. Because the epoxy putty shows poor followability to existing sealants. In this report, test results of lab and field evaluations on adhesion properties, curing properties, workability and establishing quantitative assessment with one component “silyl terminated polyether” based sealant are repoeted as a repair material for aquarium maintenance.
