Abstract
South Florida, where is appointed as outdoor exposure test site in AAMA and QUALICOAT those are known as global evluation methods for organic coatings on aluminum alloy building materials, has been investigated and collected meteorological data in the field. Forthermore, results of 3-year-outdoor exposure test with same test pieces in South Florida and Miyakojima island, Japan where is located in alomost same latitude as South Florida have been conducted. The results are as follows.(1) South Florida and Miyakojima island are located in alomost same latitude. Air temperature and relative humidity are alomost same, but sunshine radiation in Florida is much than Miyakojima and much rain fall in Miyakojima than Florida. (2) As a reults of 3-year-outdoor exposure test, coating film deterioration has been accelerated in Miyakojima than Florida. Especially, gloss down of HAA hardening type polyester powder coating is remarkable and it is considered that water and moisture largely influence coating film deterioration. (3) It is recommended that Okinawa and Southwest islands, Kagashima are Japan's more standard outdoor exposure test sites than South Florida.
