20 year outdoor exposure test of mat electrostatic painting materials

Abstract

The aluminum materials which did electrodeposition coating of a mat style are used for the aluminium construction supplies of the aluminum window frame widely. This mat electrodeposition coating was developed about 30 years before and was industrialized in an actual line. After that that is added improvement of the weather resistance and come at present. We have begun outdoor exposure test in 1991 using the aluminium materials which did this mat electrodeposition coating. We estimate the color tone and the luster using the test pieces which have passed outdoor exposure test for 20 years. And we estimate about micro-observation and a change in all kinds' physical properties value. We consider about the difference in the degradation by the difference of the mat methods, the difference in the degradation by the color tone of the anodic oxide deposit and the difference in the degradation by the disclosure environment. As the result, we estimate them to have the enough weather resistance in case of practical use.
