Abstract
Anodic oxidation aluminum alloy materials for building exterior use has be seen deterioration over time like change in color, adhesion of dirt and localized pitting corrosion here and there. This paper describes coating rehabilitation method onto the deteriorated anodic oxidation aluminum alloy building materials based on experimental results. Main results are as below. 1)According to electron microscope observation of the anodic oxidation aluminum surface and cross section that has been deteriorated with 2000-hour-sunshine carbon arc type accelerated weathering, the surface is presumed that the surface is smoothing because of slight hydration. The surface hydration is suggested because the surface has glossiness degradation however the surface change in color is not clear. It is same as the electron microscope observation results. 2)The coating system that is easily soluble in an aliphatic hydrocarbon-based solvent has good surface appearance and the hardened coating film adhesion onto the deteriorated anodic oxidation aluminum surface. Discussion on the observation of more detariorated anodic oxide aluminum surface and the coating rehabiritation would be continued in the future.
