Frost damage deterioration and salt weathering are the representative deterioration of baked bricks. However, these degradation mechanisms are not clear yet, and the relationship between laboratory experiment results of frost damage resistance and frost damage deterioration in the real environment is not clear. In this study, we conducted measurements of fundamental physical properties(water absorption rate, water saturation level, compressive strength), accelerated freeze/thaw test and sulfate resistance test on domestic and overseas baked bricks. Also, the relationships between the fundamental properties of baked brick and the resistances to frost damage or sulfate attack were studied.
