Evaluation for Powder Coating on Aluminum Alloy Building Materials

Abstract

Recently, demand on the environmental management and human health and safety is getting big worldwide social problem. In heat curing paint onto aluminum alloy building materials, it is necessary to evaluate powder coating which is not including organic solvent. In this paper, evaluation for fluororesin-polyester composite type powder coating are discussed on experimental results relating to performance test for durability. Powder coating of enamel color, metallic color mixed aluminum pigment and pearl color mixed mica pigment are used in the test. As a result, all fluororesin-polyester composite type powder coating had good coating performance about coating adhesion, corrosion resistance and weatherability. So it is possible to apply these composite type powder coating to building exterior materials.
