Abstract

Since the Great East Japan Earthquake, the dependence on coal fired power generation has been increased, and emissions of by-product such as fly ash (FA) has also increased. The purpose of this study was to expand the use of FA. The strength contribution rate was defined as the characteristic value of compressive strength development for strength enhancement from a late age due to the pozzolan reaction, which is a characteristic of FA. A mix proportion based on the k value and a mix proportion based on durability were examined. As a result, concrete using FA can be formulated and designed in consideration of the increase in long-term strength by the estimation formula using the k value. Furthermore, from the relationship between compressive strength and neutralization depth, it is possible to design a formulation that takes durability into consideration based on environmental conditions.
