Abstract

Low rise buildings frequently adopt fiber-reinforced cement siding to their exterior walls. A study was conducted in the building standard promotion project so that a generalized cement board protection methods for steel construction could be utilized as one of specification in the ministerial order of fireproof construction. In this paper, in order to clarify the fire resistance of steel-framed exterior walls filled with glass wool insulation, loading and heating tests were conducted on full-scale specimens, and the results of these tests were reported.
