Abstract
Classification algorithm for discharge summary of general practice is proposed for evaluation of quality about medical care using surgery history. It provides similarity of morpheme word in the discharge summary for each DPC (Diagnosis Procedure Combination) code, which the similarity is calculated based on relation between definition of DPC code and surgery code in electronic health record of each hospital. Experimental classification results for 420 discharge summaries of 42 DPC codes taken in Kochi Medical School hospital in Japan shows that accuracy of classification is 82% and that the same surgery information is written in discharge summary of the same DPC codes. The proposed algorithm can provide evaluation system for discharge summary and standardization of surgery code in each Japanese.
