Abstract

The goal of our research project is to develop and implement an effective evacuation guidance system in which an egress root is instructed to evacuees using a sequential sound system. In this paper we discuss the effective transmitting pattern of sound stimuli so that the evacuee could recognize the direction of guidance sound and exit by following to them. For this aim the several experiments were conducted, in which the subjects judge the direction of the sequential sound and exit in several conditions with respect to the transmitting patter of sound stimuli. The results of these experiments lead effective conditions about the transmitting pattern of them to make the evacuee exit more quickly.
