Abstract

Earthquakes occur daily in Japan. Evacuation planning must be done in advance before an earthquake occurs. In the evacuation planning problem, the network flow models are often used. In particular, though the time expanded networks are well known, the computation time is enormous. Thus, we propose to use the chain flow algorithm for the evacuation planning problem since the computation time is lower than that of the time expanded networks. We also apply the time expanded networks to compare with the chain flow algorithm focused on the central area of Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture. We report on the comparison results.
