Abstract
We describe a case of Blue rubber bleb nevus syndrome (BRBNS) that was diagnosed with capsule endoscopy and treated with single balloon enteroscopy. A 45-year-old woman presented to our department with severe anemia. Upper endoscopy revealed a small telangiectasia at the esophagus. Further colonoscopy revealed several hemangiomas in the cecum, ascending, and transverse colon. However, none of these lesions was the cause of anemia. We therefore performed capsule endoscopy to investigate the possibility of small intestinal lesions, and found several jejunoileal hemangiomas. As the leading jejunal lesion was observed during enteroscopy, we treated the lesion by clipping without complication. We successfully treated other ileal and colonic lesions in a similar fashion. After treatment, the patient's anemia improved. She was followed for 3 months, no more bleeding was seen and the hemangiomas disappeared or decreased in size.
