Abstract
Nonoc Island lies to the northeast of Surigao city on the northeastern tip of Mindanao Philippines. The island used to house one of the biggest Nickel Mines in asia which operation stopped 12 years ago, after 10 years of Nickel production.This study investigates the dispersion of the total heavy metals (Cu, Zn, Pb, Cd, Mn, Ni, and Co ) along the coastal sediments of the island. The island is still inhabited with people whose main livelihood is fishing.
