HT-ATES (high-temperature Aquifer Thermal Storage) is a technique to contribute to reducing energy consumption and carbon-dioxide emission. Reconnaissance results of heating experiment using a test well is reported in relation to develop the monitoring method of water quality for the sustainable operation of HT-ATES. Water quality changed probably due to microbial mediated reaction including sulfate reduction when the temperature increased to 25 degree Celcius. We are planning to continue the experiment at the higher temperatures.
