This article discusses the challenges that young researchers and engineers should take on over the next 100 years, including the attitudes with which they should approach those challenges. Among countless issues even within areas related to polymers, rubber materials, and their manufacturing processes, the author encouraged them to tackle innovative materials and process development. Additionally, the author addressed the significance of aiming for “Galapagos” research and the value of research and development rooted in Japanese culture. Finally, the author mentioned the role of seniors who should support younger professionals.
