The mold release properties of HNBR/zinc-methacrylate have been studied. Increasing the content of zinc-methacrylate, the adhesive strength to mold increased. Analizing the mold surface by micro-FTIR and IR-RAS, firstly, the poly- zinc-methacrylate adhered to the mold surface and subsequently, the rubber adhered to the mold.
The mold release agents on this compound were studied. The best internal release agent was Na-dodecylbenzenesulfonate and the generally-used release agents such as wax and silicone showed little effect. The particular agents were better for an external commercial mold release agent.
