Abstract
The eastern part of Hokkaido is the region where the Okhotsk culture lasted for a long time,and then it became the Tobinitai cultural period along with the creation of Tobinitai type potteries and finally shifted to the Satsumon culture.The potteries of various type were made in these period,and propagated to in each region.In this study,the potteries which were made in the final stages of the Okhotsk culture period and the potteries which were made in the Tobinitai culture period were investigated using EPMA(Elctron Probe Micro Analyzer) about the mixing ratio of the sand elements contained in the clay of pottery.The measured value by the image processing analysis is converted standardization data,it was shown in the ternary composition diagram. Based on the results of that,relationship between the changes in pottery type and the changes in the production area was investigated.
