The Neutron Science and Technology Center, Comprehensive Research Organization for Science and Society (CROSS) is a registered organization of the Specific Neutron Facility at J-PARC, which was designated by the Japanese government in 2011. As a partner institution of the Materials and Life Science Experimental Facility (MLF), the Center supports the activities of the seven public neutron beamlines of the MLF, provides high-quality user support to academic and industrial researchers, and promotes the use of the facility. Starting with the history of the center, a wide range of utilization support activities that the center is currently engaged in is introduced, including public relations and education. Then, future prospects for operation at 1 MW neutron beam power are proposed.
