Neutron triple-axis spectrometer (TAS), which is installed at steady neutron sources, is used for various purposes in condensed matter science. This article is aimed to describe practical use of TAS for beginners. I begin with explaining each component of TAS. Then, I will show how to check quality of single crystals and align single crystals by using TAS.
