The media used for cultivation of M. leprae murium were based on the modified Kirchner's medium and contained polytamin, and glycerin, dextrose, soluble starch or glycogen was added to it as carbon source. Chemically pure lecithin and blood albumin were added to it for supplementary purposes.
It seemed that M. leprae murium could be grown on starch or glycogen-lecithinalbumin added medium at the initial culture and at the first subculture, but further subcultures were found impossible on this medium. The growth of M. leprae murium was worse on dextrose-lecithin-albumin medium, and worst on glycerin medium.
