Abstract
Ogata reported that the agglutination titer with the antigen of cardiolipin: lecithin =l: 1 was higher than that with the antigen of cardiolipin: lecithin =1: 10. In my supplementary experiments 64 % was positive, among which tuberous leprosy was positive in 75 %. 9 % of syphilitic and 12 % of other sera were positive, but the agglutination titers were low in all cases. The positivity of this reaction, combined with the clinical symptoms, leads us to the diagnosis of leprosy. The slide method with the antigen of cardiolipin: lecithin: cholesterol =1: 34: 30 and =1: 1: 18 presented the strong reaction, but not superior to the agglutination. Complement combining reaction with the antigen of cardiolipin: lecithin: cholesterol =1: 1: 20 reacted intensely in syphilis, but inferior to the agglutination. This reaction presented no specific result to murine leprosy.
