Preliminary research on making a program for activation of the NST activities in a children's hospital

Abstract

　Gunma Children's Medical Center, which is children's hospital started Nutrition Support Team (NST) activities in 2007, which is Team Approach to Health Care in Orthomolecular medicine. However, the NST activities are not carried out sufficiently now because there are few requests for intervention. So we made a program for activation of the NST activities in order to fill the role of the team. To make the program we investigated causes of the obstacle to the NST activities as well as the consciousness and the behavior of nutrition administration and of the NST activities of the staff. As a result, we understood the actual conditions of the causes of the obstacle to the NST activities and of the consciousness and the behavior of the staff, and also we found out that there were some issues of the content and the method of the current NST activities. We realized again the importance of making the program for activation of the NST activities, which considers the causes of the obstacle.
