This paper reports the problem of avoidance of science and technology leaning is one of the big issues for education in Japan. Part of the problem might arise from the lack of so called "monozukuri " or engineering design activities at elememtary svhool levels. hands on class room activities for elementry schools are developed including the followings. The educational results of this approach are discussed in the context of student questionnaires.
