Model Framework of the Maritime Education with One Training Ship among Colleges

Abstract

The practical training aboard a training ship is considered as a major issue among the maritime educationssuch aslectures, exercises and trainingsfor the students. However, from the financial point of view, it will be difficult for each school to own itstraining ship in the future. In order to improve thissituation, the principal framework has been examined for the new maritime educationalsystem with one training ship, as an example, among the three National Colleges of MaritimeTechnology in the Seto Inland Sea. We are going to propose a new model for the maritime education with one training ship for three schoolsin which the studentsfrom each campus will move in each small fast boat, and will aboard in the training ship which will be stationed at one port in the Inland Sea.
