Abstract

Although many nations in Southeast Asia have achieved remarked development, Singapore has followed a unique growth way. The “growth first” policy taken in Singapore has brought the nation to one of the most developed countries, whilst it may have to be revised in several ways considering Singapore's internal and external circumstances. Interestingly, in other words, the policy including the society and the politics of Singapore, called soft dictatorship, “was” endorsed to a certain level by its nation, but to reinvent itself, it matters “now” that Singapore settles imperative issues due to the policy. To investigate and expound, this study discusses Singapore’s contemporary history for the education of high and junior high students.
