Although many nations in Southeast Asia have achieved remarked development, Singapore has followed a unique
growth way. The “growth first” policy taken in Singapore has brought the nation to one of the most developed countries, whilst it may have to be revised in several ways considering Singapore's internal and external circumstances. Interestingly, in other words, the policy including the society and the politics of Singapore, called soft dictatorship, “was” endorsed to a certain level by its nation, but to reinvent itself, it matters “now” that Singapore settles imperative issues due to the policy. To investigate and expound, this study discusses Singapore’s contemporary history for the education of high and junior high students.

This paper reports on the practices of teaching English pronunciation and presents its challenges. With the current widespread belief that any English used in the world is correct, it may not be necessary to pronounce English as native speakers do. However, if Japanese people pronounce English in katakana, they will have difficulty communicating with others in English and will not develop listening skills. The following is a method of teaching pronunciation of English words and sentences that I have practiced in class. The results of a test to see how accurately the students can pronounce English will also be presented. Reading aloud only in class is not enough, and students do not practice reading aloud at home or in their dormitory. It would not be wise to spend too much time practicing pronunciation. I would like to reconsider how to teach English pronunciation during the class.

The purpose of this paper is to identify the actual conditions and challenges of KOSEN education model that is being transferred to technical colleges in Thailand. In " Transferring KOSEN Education to Thailand - Preliminary Field Visit to Two Technical Colleges- (2020)," the author reported 1) the emergence, 2) the education system, and 3) the process of KOSEN transfer to Thailand. On the other hand, the author was unable to conduct a survey of 4th and 5th year students working on internship and graduation research, which are key elements of the 4th and 5th -year curriculum of KOSEN. Therefore, this paper focuses on and analyses the actual conditions of internships and graduation research based on the results of the field trip in 2022. Then the results, such as the actual conditions and challenges, are compared with those of Japanese KOSEN in order to distinguish whether the challenges can be Thai original or common in Japan.

This paper examines the relationships between vocabulary learning strategies and motivation in terms of self determination theory. A questionnaire survey was administered to fifth-year students of a technical college (KOSEN). As a result of exploratory factor analysis, three factors were extracted: organization, image, and repetition strategy. An unpaired t-test between the low and high intrinsic motivation groups revealed that the high group scored significantly higher than the low group on the organization strategy. Correlation analysis of vocabulary learning strategies and motivation showed that the organization strategy was positively correlated with intrinsic motivation, but negatively correlated with external regulation. Learners who were highly self-determined used the organization strategy significantly, suggesting that it is an important strategy.

The authors have developed several teaching materials of motion and vibration issues in mechanical system. One is a software called DSS for motion and vibration simulation, which supports the sequence of operation of numerically solving the equation of motion and displaying the analytical results graphically. The other is an experimental teaching material, and we have already completed its around twenty experimental apparatuses with excitation device. In this study, we focused on manual excitation and developed two experimental apparatus of 3-DOF (three degrees of freedom) vibration system. One is a rectilinear vibration system, the other is a multi-type vibration system including pendulum, bending vibration and tortional vibration. In order to verify the validity of the equipment, each vibration system was simulated using DSS and compared with the experimental results.

In our student dormitory, it is necessary to submit an application when overnight stay at weekend, and confirm your return to the dormitory. Currently, students submit paper documents, which are manually organized and sorted by dormitory office staff and faculty members on duty. In addition, students cannot check at hand whether or not they have submitted, so duplicate submissions and non-submissions may occur. In this paper, we describe the development of the electronic system of overnight stay application. We have constructed the dormitory student database and created the web user-interfaces. The Microsoft365 cloud applications are also used for the system.

Autonomous ships are ships that can navigate automatically by commands or autonomous functions sent from a remote location. In recent years, the importance of "automated driving at sea " has begun to be emphasized for coastal vessels, where labor shortages are a concern. Autonomous navigation technology, which is "autonomous navigation at sea ", has great potential, and technological development is progressing toward the realization of
autonomous ships. This research aims to reduce the labor burden of seafarers and the accompanying reduction in operating costs. In addition, we investigated a manpower-saving marine transportation system that uses automatic navigation technology to improve the conventional marine transportation that operates the same number of personnel in " difficult to navigate " waters such as routes and near ports.

Therefore, when we conducted a questionnaire survey of people using ships on the island, more than half answered that they were not conscious of the evacuation route and the position of life jackets when boarding the ship. As a result, it occupied It was found that safety awareness is low when encountering a ship accident when using a ship. In order to solve the problem of low awareness of marine accidents, we created video content to learn about emergency response on board ships.
