Additional mechanical factors in the outer layer of our cells play a large role in the formation and the morphogenetic process of our bodies and tissues. The concave-convex surface structure of wrinkles in the brain and that of folds in the intestines are both determined by the mechanical balance between the surface and cytoskeleton. In our study, these morphogenetic processes will be mimicked and the surface buckling phenomenon will be used to create a variety of minute wrinkle structures on the surface of silicon rubber. Moreover, we adopted wrinkle to prepare various application fields, such as colloidal array, SERS sensing film and superhydrophobic surface.
