As a part of teaching material development and research of its teaching method, in fiscal year 2018, an art project for children, “THE ART CLASS IN THE FOREST—AKAMA”*1 was held by the organizing of “LIFESTYLES exhibition executive committee”. In this study, I aimed to position the activity of the workshop in “THE ART CLASS IN THE FOREST—AKAMA Vol. 2” as teaching materials of “freestyle arts and crafts” in elementary education “Drawing and Crafts”, I considered the practice contents of the workshop, and the achievement and problems from the questionnaire survey conducted for the participant of the workshop. By the achievement from the questionnaire result, I was able to position the activities of the “Let’s make a secret base!” and “Let’s create a mysterious creature in the forest!” as teaching materials of “freestyle arts and crafts”. However, it was difficult for me to position the activity of the “Socialite Quest in the forest” as teaching materials of “freestyle arts and crafts modeling”. As an issue, in the forest activities, the leaders needed to make sure that children were aware of the dangers and understand how to use tools, and consider what to do in bad weather.
