B-2 An Essay on Project Management Models

Abstract

The project management model of scheme, system and service has been discussed from various points of view since its appearance. Recently, the scheme model is especially discussed from the viewpoint of management strategy. On the other hand, the PDCA management cycle has been rarely discussed on project management. In addition, the discussion has unconsciously been done from the viewpoint of contractor's "D" since the project management has been traditionally discussed on the contractor's "D". Then, the management framework model, covering domains of plant, product, business and administration, is discussed from the viewpoints of management cycle and collaboration between owner and contractor, together with typical project models and relationships among the models.
