Chinul (1158–1210), a Sŏn priest in the Koryŏ dynasty, cites the works of Wŏnhyo (617–686) of Silla in his Kwŏnsu chŏnghye kyŏlsa mun. In this paper, I consider how Chinul used Wŏnhyo’s words.
