チベット語仏伝bde bar gshigs pa’i spyod pa mchog gi gterについての研究

This article studies the Tibetan language of the Buddha’s biography titled Bde bar gshigs pa’i spyod pa mchog gi gter. The complete title in Tibetan title is Sang rgyas bcom ldan ‘das kyi rnam par thar par rmad du byung ba mdzad pa ‘khrul ba med par brdzod pa bde bar gshigs pa’i spyod pa mchog gi gter zhe bya ba. In this article, the Japanese title is used in short as 善逝の聖行蔵 (Bde bar gshigs pa’i spyod pa mchog gi gter). According to the epilogue of this work, its composition was completed at Bra Gor monastery by the author Lkal bzang chos kyi rgya mcho on the invitation of Chos kyi rje cag lo tsa ba in year Dmar ser can te shing po stag.

In this article, an attempt was made to give the 13 chapter names of the Bde bar gshigs pa’i spyod pa mchog gi gter, to review previous studies on it and to study its relationship with Rgya cher rol pa. With reference to the relation between Rgya cher rol pa and this text, I tried to assume the subject matter of this work with emphasis on its relationship to the Sanskrit version of the Lalitavistara, and to focus on new materials revealed thereby to study the Buddha’s biography.
