Abstract
Analysis methods for modeling of photonic crystal fibers, such as the effective-index approach, basis-function expansion approach, and numerical approach, are reviewed. Using a full modal vector model, the dispersion and leakage properties of holey fibers and photonic band-gap fibers are investigated.
