Recent Research Activities on Atomic Time & Frequency Standards

Abstract

Recent research activities on atomic time and frequency standards are introduced. Especially two topics are selected and explained in detail. One topic is “accurate optical frequency standards" which may be a primary standard of “one second" in the next generation. Another is “chip-scale atomic clocks" which may be useful for industries, communications and various scenes in our daily life.
