Rehabilitation and its Devices for Preventing Existing Buildings from Seismic Disaster

Abstract

The present paper outlines the seismic rehabilitation techniques and the seismic energy dissipation devices for preventing existing reinforced concrete buildings from seismic disaster. Also, the purpose of the development of response-control retrofit methods using friction dampers developed by the authors, the mechanism and the effect of its device, and the verification test results are outlined.
