Development of Pulsed Ion Beam Source by Washer Gun

Abstract

A new type pulsed ion beam source was developed by use of washer gun plasma source. It will provide low-cost and maintenance-free ion beam for the neutral beam injector (NBI), eliminating the conventional filament and water cooling systems. Its low-voltage and high-current properties are suitable for the present spherical tokamak experiment.
