Abstract

Magnetic field induction from an overhead power line to a nearby parallel multipoint grounded conductor is discussed. By applying the Thevenin's equivalent circuit to a terminal (contact points) in a multipoint grounded conductor, simple useful formulae to evaluate the induced voltage on the conductor were derived. It revealed that distinctly small grounding impedance located in the extremity causes tremendous increase of the induced voltage at the opposite side of the conductor.
