In order to implement an electromagnetic (EM) shielding, approximation of perfectly matched layer (PML) used in FDTD analysis was proposed. One layer of the PML was approximated by a set of magnetic and dielectric layers. Using relative permittivity of a commercial substrate material, design parameters of the EM shielding in the matching condition were discussed by 1D FDTD simulation. Results indicated the feasibility of the EM shielding with low reflectivity and transmissivity.
