Abstract

A capacitor-filtered single phase rectifier circuit has been widely used in the household electronic apparatuses. This rectifier circuit generates many harmonic components in the AC side current. This generated harmonics may cause various disturbances.
So, in this paper, we propose a reduction method of the harmonic currents based on the principle of constant resistance circuit. And we carry out the analysis of the circuit, and describe the design method of the circuit constants on the DC side of the rectifier circuit. Furthermore, as an example, we consider the application to a television set, which occupies a majority of harmonic currents on the power distribution systems, and clarify the reduction effects of this method.
