Abstract
A partial discharge (PD) detector for cables in service has been developed. It consists of a signal processor put into an attaché case with CT for PD pulse sensing, and a personal computer. This PD measurement system is usable for cables in service because its CT can be split open and clamped a earth line of existing facilities.
This paper describes analysis methods of PD pulses on high voltage power cables, the outline of PD measurement system, and some acquisitions of PD pulses in live lines.
