Measurement of surface charge for thick dielectrics such as insulating supports is completely different from that for thin films. It necessitates multipoint measurement with an electrostatic probe together with numerical field calculation. This paper describes how to obtain the coefficient matrix between probe response and surface charge. It has shown for a simple model arrangement that the matrix with N×N components can be computed by the field calculation of N times.
