診療ガイドラインの利用調査

A number of clinical practice guidelines developed by pertinent professional societies is increasing, and assessment for its effectiveness and usability is currently being in progress. We sent an electronic questionnaire survey through web Internet, utilizing an updated list of established clinical practice guidelines on the Toho University Medical Media Center Home Page. The objective of the survey was to gather information from individuals concerning; 1) users specialties, 2) a name (s) of guidelines they used, 3) the purpose of the using guidelines.
The period of the survey was 295 days, during which time we received 965 responses. In guideline users of the respondents, 721 (74%) were from physicians, with internists predominated in numbers, followed by 105 (11%) from pharmacists.
With regard to particular guidelines they used, 367 responded to the question. Guidelines in the field of neurology accounted for 58 (16%; the largest group), followed by 54 (15%) of cardiovascular guidelines.
There were 350 respondents to the question for the purpose of the using guidelines. Of the 350, 227 were from physicians, out of which 161 (71%; the largest group) responded that they used guidelines for routine medical practice. 52 pharmacists responded to the question, out of which 14 (27%; the largest group) defined the purpose of guidelines for education or research.
Responses from non-professional citizens were 33.17 (52%) claimed that they used guidelines for seeking information on illness the user or his/her family members had.
