The Library of Kansai Medical University has introduced eBook “STAT!Ref”, which is superior to hard copy for full-text searches and for referring to different resources at the same time. In addition, it has the advantage of enabling users at branch libraries to peruse it simultaneously. However, a statistical analysis performed after its introduction showed that it had not yet become popular among users, so we distributed questionnaires to students and teachers regarding their knowledge and usage of eBook. The questionnaires showed that a few students knew of eBook and that most of the teachers were aware of it, but that only half of the teachers who answered the questionnaire had actually used eBook. Increasing the Japanese content and relating eBook to university classes will be important for its dissemination.
