抄録
This article examines a Japanese version of “The Strange Mum” originally published in Korea
in 2016. Although the original text is written in standard Korean, the Japanese translation,
published in 2017 with the title “Fairy Mum” employs a Kansai dialect to one character and
Standard Japanese to the second character. Why has been it translated in this way. I clarify this
issue and the effect of dialect use.
