Abstract
An eye fundus is an only part of the human body where a blood vessel can be directly observed from the outside of the body. The progression of arteriosclerosis could be evaluated by observing the pulse wave of the retinal blood vessel, because the pulse wave changes according as the progression of arteriosclerosis. In this paper we propose an valuation method of the time-course of the diameter of the pulsatile blood vessel from eye fundus motion video. The proposed method consists of three processes, i.e., (i) image registration, (ii) detection of blood vessel position, and (iii) evaluation of blood vessel diameter. In the experiments, the edges of the blood vessel and the changes in vessel diameter have been successfully found from the actual eye fundus motion videos.
