The present study aimed to clarify the actual status of oral care administered by psychiatric nurses to hospitalized patients. We investigated psychiatric nurses in the present study. A total of 129 valid responses were analysed. The results revealed that most psychiatric nurses felt the importance of oral care. Approximately 80% of psychiatric nurses self-evaluated the oral care being performed as insufficient. Approximately half self-evaluated the oral care as not conducted in collaboration with dentists. Psychiatric nurse who worked in collaboration with dentists cited ‘poor oral condition’ and ‘insufficient knowledge’ as reasons for insufficient oral care, suggesting that collaborating with dentists may lead to an awareness of insufficient oral care. Along with the enhancement of collaboration with dentists, our results suggest that psychiatric nurses need to take steps to improve the quality of oral care.

We propose methods to find rare information from the Web using two approaches. We define rare information as relevant and atypical information. In the first approach, we use social bookmark data. Especially, we focus on tags which are sometimes used to annotate topics of the pages. The second approach is based on word co-occurrence in a orpus. In both approaches, we use conditional probabilities to express relevancy and atypicality. In experiments, we compared our methods with the relevance-oriented method, the diversity-oriented method, and another rarity-oriented method. We prepared typical and atypical pages for ten queries, and ranked them using each method. Our methods using word co-occurrence obtained better nDCG scores than the other methods.

In this paper, we propose new features to classify ovarian follicles into two classes. We have proposed six features defined as the deformation amount of an ovarian follicle when an ovarian follicle collection needle is stabbed to it. To reduce the patients’ pain in paracentesis operation, we need to reduce the number of times of piercing by the ovarian follicle collection needle. We have proposed new eight features which are based on deformation amount when a needle is not stabbed ovarian follicles. The experimental results show a possibility to classify ovarian follicles into two classes.

With the rapid development of advanced Internet techniques, fresh fruit ecommerce has become a hot spot. By the survey analysis on 101 households at 12 villages in Zhouzhi and Meixian of Shaanxi province where the kiwifruit is widely produced, we know that there are some traditional sales channels for agricultural products. However, farmers begin to like selling goods online in recent years because of the low cost and broad market. However, there are also some significant problems faced by farmers, such as product packaging, logistics speed and security, and logistics costs. According to the characteristics of the Shaanxi kiwifruit industry, we use the questionnaire survey and interview survey to investigate and analyze the ecommerce logistics mode of kiwifruit in Zhouzhi and Meixian from the views of both kiwi ecommerce farmers and logistics providers. We analyze the current kiwifruit ecommerce logistics problems and put forward corresponding suggestions.

An eye fundus is an only part of the human body where a blood vessel can be directly observed from the outside of the body. The progression of arteriosclerosis could be evaluated by observing the pulse wave of the retinal blood vessel, because the pulse wave changes according as the progression of arteriosclerosis. In this paper we propose an valuation method of the time-course of the diameter of the pulsatile blood vessel from eye fundus motion video. The proposed method consists of three processes, i.e., (i) image registration, (ii) detection of blood vessel position, and (iii) evaluation of blood vessel diameter. In the experiments, the edges of the blood vessel and the changes in vessel diameter have been successfully found from the actual eye fundus motion videos.
