This paper is concerned with a linear programming model to search for the optimal technology of wastewater treatment. The model can be considered as a decision analytic extension of the wastewater treatment input–output model. Then, The model was applied to Tokyo Metropolis. By minimizing landfill volume, GWP or BOD, optimal technologies are found respectively. Finally, in order to discuss effects of application of high temperature incineration in Tokyo Metropolis. By using this model, frontiers of emission reduction was given in a space with landfill volume, GWP and BOD as its x-axis, y-axis and z-axis. As a conclusion, accompanied with the application of the high temperature incineration, the frontier of emission reduction can be improved.
