Abstract
The method of molding will depend a great deal upon the getting of better castings, especially in spinning machine or loom parts castings. The statistics in our foundries show the proper reatio of sections between gate and sprue and runner as reported in this paper.
On the other hand facing materials were also investigated. The effects of using the facing materials made from the various mixture of graphite, charcoal, bentonite and clay on the surface conditions of castings or production of gas holes in castings were studied. Fron the results obtained it has been shown that using the facing material made from charcoal will give us the best surface condition of castings having no defeat such as gas holes. (N. T)
