Abstract
We measured the muscle strength of 15 patients with progressive muscular dystrophy (12 with Duchenne type, 3 with limb-girdle) by using the electric instrument for the measurement of the dysfunction of body and extremities. It was compared to 3 patients with pulmonary tuberculosis. The grasp power of the hands of the patients with progressive muscular dystrophy decreased than that of the patients with pulmonary tuberculosis, but the grasp power of the patients with limb-girdle type have been relatively held better than that of the patients of pulmonary tuberculosis. The grasp power of the right hand were compared with the left hand, and the left handed patients better in the grasp power of the left hand. The same result was obtained in the cases of the right handed. The comparison of the muscle strength of the extensors and the flexors at the knees was carried out, and the muscle strength of the extensors are better than the flexors of the patients of pulmonary tuberculosis and limb-girdle type. The muscle strength of flexors are better than the extensors in the patients with Duchenne type according to functional ability.
