Abstract
It has often been pointed out that Greater difficulty is encountered in distinguishing a lesion of one cerebral hemisphere trom cre of the contralateral cerebellar hemisphere especially when the former shows only somatic manifestation.
A 14-year-old, left handed boy was admitted to our department complaining of visual and gait disturbances. Neurological examination showed 5 D. of papilledema on the right fundus. Dyssynergia, dysmetria and dysdiadochokinesia were observed on the right hand. No motor disturbance, no pyramidal tract sign were found. Babinski-weil test disclosed deviation toward the right side. Such findings gave the patient a diagnosis of a mass of the right cerebellar hemisphere.
However, vertebral angiography, positive ventriculography and carotid arteriography revealed a tumor of the left cerebral hemisphere, which was surgically removed and was proved glioblastoma multiforme histologically.
Some discussions have been made concerning this case.
